Career description

Biomedical engineering is a multidisciplinary branch that applies the principles of electronic engineering, computer science and systems development and engineering design concepts to the field of medicine. It ranges from medical equipment to the development of algorithms for better disease detection. A biomedical engineering professional assists in the development of a better understanding of the physiology and structure of the human body to support clinicians' knowledge of disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

What will you learn during the program?

Use engineering knowledge of medical problems with the goal of designing, developing, testing and maintaining equipment used by medical professionals.
