The Program is designed in order to enhance the quality of nursing research, whose results impact, transform or improve the management of health services, both in public and private hospitals, in community nursing, personalized home care and in cases of emergencies due to disasters or health care crises and, at the same time, to prepare them for their future incorporation in universities, health centers and institutions and research in health, nursing and emergency care. The academic program is taught by highly qualified teachers with professional and academic experience.

The PhD in Nursing Sciences is a postgraduate degree that allows the nursing professional to deepen in the different areas of care of the person, family and healthy or diseased community, by developing programs for their benefit. The doctoral students develop the ability to research and produce new scientific knowledge.

AdmissionProfile

The program is aimed at Masters in Nursing, and UMG students can enroll if they have a Master's Degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing graduated from any other university.


Graduate'sProfile

The Doctor in Nursing Sciences graduated from UMG is able to: Perform or conduct research with scientific rigor in the field of Nursing and health to generate new knowledge, either to strengthen the existing ones. Produce, socialize and publish articles through different written media of scientific recognition with the new contributions generated from the research. Produce and present research projects in national or international congresses.

Support and implement the use of research results in the different fields of nursing and health. Promote and participate in the design of health policies and strategies and develop nursing care models.

Career Opportunities

They can work in senior management positions at health care institutions, as program coordinators in public and private institutions, consultants in national and international organizations, service chiefs, supervisors, heads of clinical departments in health care institutions, management, coordination and teaching positions in educational programs at universities in the region, and positions in health services in private company clinics.
