It is a specialisation that can be taken by professionals in different fields such as: medicine, psychiatry, psychology, legal sciences, sociology, among others. It is a training that helps to participate in oral trials, to determine the location of the aggressor and his victim, among other aspects.

The professional will learn the theoretical-practical elements for their executive performance in legal matters and in matters inherent to the management of personnel in different companies; it is an added value for the performance of the personnel recruitment area, among others.

To enter the Mariano Gálvez University of Guatemala, the applicant must meet formal requirements, such as being a graduate of undergraduate studies and having all the certificates that accredit him or her, and undergo an interview in which the director of the School and the interested party discuss their perspectives on the career and the scope of it.

1. Photostat of the degree that accredits the academic degree.

2. Show the original degree certificate to corroborate records and stamps.

3. Two recent passport-size photographs, printed on matte paper, without any kind of gloss, not snapshots, with the name and date noted on the back.

4. Photocopy of personal identification document or passport for foreigners, and exhibit the original.

5. Payment of registration fee.

Graduates will have the following competences: they will be professionals specialising in Criminology and Forensic Psychology, with knowledge of the environment and the endogenous and exogenous factors that affect criminality.

They will know and master the aspects inherent to victimology, and will have the ability to give their opinion on the subject in situations inherent to the national and international reality.

They will be able to generate strategies for the prevention and control of crime, and will be able to carry out forensic work in their specialty.

Career Opportunities

Professionals are able to advise, consult and manage projects and programmes in the field of security, justice, crime prevention and reduction. Capable of interpret statistics on criminal phenomena.
