Career description

It is a career that promotes academic excellence through the development of a program that integrates theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of clinical nutrition in the hospital and ambulatory environments with a holistic approach to care and evidence-based decision-making. The program also transversally integrates the areas of public nutrition and research, as well as other complementary disciplines for the understanding of the determinants of human nutrition (Anthropology, Sociology and Mental Health) as well as specific areas of food and nutrition sciences. The academic program is taught by highly qualified teachers with both professional and academic experience.

What will you learn during the program?

In this career, you will acquire knowledge and skills for the proper Implementation of the nutritional care process (PCN) for the design of nutritional care plans at individual and group level as well as the complementary processes of nutritional food education, management and use of technological resources and research development. You will acquire knowledge in discipline areas such as food biochemistry, hygiene, food selection and preparation, dietetics, institutional dietetics, community nutrition and professional ethics, clinical nutrition in the hospital and outpatient setting complemented with the areas of public nutrition, food services, nutritional food education, nutritional food informatics at the community and population level, applied research, marketing applied to nutrition and informatics applied to nutrition.

Have knowledge of basic sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics) or be willing to acquire it with dedication and commitment during the courses that the Faculty has included in the curriculum at the beginning of the career.
